Following a period of research and experimentation at the University of Hertfordshire, funded by the Arts Council, I developed a series of sculptural responses to the gallery architecture and space for my first large scale solo exhibition. The result is Substratum.

With its large and small scale pieces, process videos and materials library, the exhibition aims to demonstrate the detail and hypnotic focus of material engagement, engaging visitors with the surprising potential and visual delight of 'stuff'.
